About general dentistry

General dentistry covers the everyday care that keeps your teeth and gums healthy for life. Everyone should see a general dentist for routine examinations, twice-yearly cleanings and treatment of common problems such as minor tooth decay.

It is as much about prevention as treatment. At De Anza Smiles, Dr. Saboowala looks for the early signs of decay and gum disease you can't yet see or feel, and our team shows you simple ways to protect your smile between visits.

Common questions

How often should I see the dentist?
The American Dental Association recommends regular visits, usually about twice a year, for a cleaning and exam. Some patients with gum concerns benefit from more frequent visits; Dr. Saboowala will let you know what's right for you.
Do you see the whole family?
Yes. We care for patients of all ages, from a child's first visit to seniors, so the whole family can be seen in one familiar office.
Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most PPO insurance plans and will help you make the most of your benefits. Call us at (408) 255-1700 and we'll check your coverage.
